With this sculpture the artist wanted to represent the strength of a mother who carries a baby in one arm – symbolizing the creation and continuation of life thanks to all women. With the other arm she carries a sword cutting the chain that is hanging from her legs – symbolizing everything that has limited women and everything they have achieved fighting for their freedom and emancipation.
